The language you choose with your pupils is very important. Be careful not to use inappropriate terms such as “darling” or “my love” and other such types. Often these are used quite innocently but your pupils, especially young girls, may find them “creepy” and use of them can make the pupil feel uncomfortable. Avoid swearing. Avoid physical contact. Remain professional at all times as one of the most common complaints from pupils is that of inappropriate language.
